1977 April Banpresto's predecessor company, Hoei Sangyo Co., Ltd, was established at 3-2-4 Nakano, Nakano-ku, Tokyo as a manufacturing and sales company for arcade video game machines. Initial capitalization: 5 million yen.
1982 June The Company was renamed Coreland Technology Co., Ltd.
1986 February Capital was increased to 70 million yen.
1989 February The Company became a subsidiary of Bandai Co., Ltd., renamed Banpresto Co., Ltd. The registered address was changed to 1-4-14 Komagata, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
July Two children's amusement machines were introduced: "Anpan-man's Skateboard Coaster" and "SD Mobile Suit Gundam."
December The Company’s capital was restructured to 300 million yen as a measure to increase financial stability.
1990 April "Ultraman" stuffed toy was introduced for claw vending machines. First home video game software was introduced. "SD Lupin III Safebreaking Mission" and "SD Battle Sumo Wrestling, Heisei Hero Basho" were launched.
July A children's amusement machine, "Anpan-man Video Phone," was introduced.
1991 April Super Robot Wars software for handheld gaming devices was introduced.
"Ultraman" arcade video game was introduced.
1992 February Santowa Co., Ltd. (current BanprestoSales Co., Ltd.) was established as the Company's sales agent.
April Capital was increased to 1,400 million yen.
November The Company's first owned amusement facility, "Tokyo Gulliver, Matsudo," was opened.
1993 April Sailor Moon Fantasy Dream children's amusement machine was introduced.
December Super PuyoPuyo home video game software was introduced (selling more than 1.6 million units in aggregate)
1994 February The Company's registered address was changed to 2-16-9 Kaminarimon, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
Banpre Kikaku Co., Ltd. (current Banpresoft Co., Ltd.) was established to develop home video game software.
April Unifive Co., Ltd. was acquired to strengthen the development and purchasing divisions for the game prize business.
May Banpresto (H.K.) Ltd. was established to manage production in the Asian region.
1995 July The innovative prize game machine, "ConveniCatcher," was introduced.
1996 February The Company's headquarters was relocated to 1230-1 Matsudo, Matsudo-shi, Chiba, and the registered address was changed to 2-4-11 Komagata, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
1997 January Pocket Monster Soft Key Holder game machine prize was introduced.
March Mras Co., Ltd., a subsidiary, established a school for training actors/actresses and voice actors/actresses.
The Company's planning and development division for home video games was integrated into Banpre Kikaku Co., Ltd. and the resulting company was renamed Banpresoft Co., Ltd.
June The Company's registered address was changed to 10-8 Nihonbashi-Odenmacho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
1998 December Artpresto Co., Ltd., a printing company, was acquired.
1999 January OEM operations was started at Banpresto (H.K.) Ltd.
April ConveniCatcher DX prize game machine was introduced.
2000 March Capital was increased to 2 billion yen.
May "Super Robot Wars Eo" home video game software introduced (sold more than 700 thousand units in aggregate).
October Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
Capital was increased to 3.02 billion yen.
2001 June Full scale launch of "Big Entertainment," an Internet-based amusement park.
September Subsidiary Unifive Co., Ltd. was merged into the Company.
Subsidiary Mras Co., Ltd. was dissolved.
2002 July Company's headquarters were relocated to 2-16-9 Kaminarimon, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
2003 March Listing changed to the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
April Pleasure Cast Co., Ltd. was established for planning and operating the amusement facility, "Chaland."
November Banpocket Co., Ltd. was acquired.
2004 March ConveniCatcher 2 prize game machine was introduced.
May Super Robot Wars MX home video game software (33rd title in the "Super Robot Wars" series) was introduced. Aggregate units shipped exceeded 10 million.
July The Company's headquarters was relocated, and the registered address changed, to 2-5-4 Komagata, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
September Subsidiary Hanayashiki Co., Ltd. began operation of the amusement park, "Asakusa Hanayashiki."
December The amusement facility development and management sections were split off, and their duties were taken over by Pleasure Cast Co.,Ltc.
2005 April With the aim to expand sales of prizes for the amusement market, Banwave Co., Ltd. and Ban Pocket Co., Ltd., two Banpresto subsidiaries, were merged, re-launching prize sales operations as BanprestoSales Co., Ltd.
September With the establishment of Namco Bandai Holdings Inc., Banpresto became a member of the Bandai Namco Group.
December The parent company of Banpresto changed from Bandai Co., Ltd. to Namco Bandai Holdings Inc.
2006 May Banpresto was delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange as it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings Inc.
June With the completion of proceedings, Banpresto became a wholly owned subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings Inc.
2007 June Banpresto headquarters was relocated, and the registered address changed, to 4-12-2 Higashi-Shinagawa, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo.
2008 April Banpresto’s amusement machine business and home video game software business were consolidated into Namco Bandai Games Inc.
Banpresto Co., Ltd. became a new company centered on the prize business.
